Digital Marketing Approach for Startups

In this age of startups, digital media has become an essential tool for new businesses to grow and prosper. Owing to its targeted approach and low cost, Digital Marketing is the favorite tool of new age startups. Digital Marketing has become a key pillar of marketing and has become an indispensable tool to drive growth and generating a positive ROI. In this article we discuss on how Digital Marketing can be harnessed for driving growth.

  1. Emphasis should be given to a website.

A website gives the first impression of an organization. Any prospective lead would first check the website before making any purchase. If the user interface and user experience are not attractive enough, the user may not engage with the website. The website should give a clear idea about the business in first 30 seconds of browsing. The chances of a user completing a buy are more for a website which is uncluttered and makes consumers engage with it. The interface should be neat and professional, and the load time should be low. The organization should also ensure that there is a dedicated page for sharing contact information.

  1. Website should be mobile friendly

The most common mistake that startups make while designing the website is that it is not mobile optimized or mobile friendly. Statistics say that 80 percent of the traffic today is driven through mobile. Hence a website which is not optimized for mobile viewing will see a greater number of dropouts.

  1. To be present where the audience is

For a startup it’s very important to understand where exactly their audience is. The startup should identify the right social media platform where most of its audience is concentrated. The audience can be spread on different platforms based on demographics and other parameters. Hence the startup should identify the right audience where it should focus more. At the same time the startup should also focus on maintaining its presence on all relevant platforms.

  1. Identify the best platform for lead generation

It’s advisable to identify platforms that help generate leads for the startup. They also have to ensure that they are not wasting on resources that can be sourced from their existing resources. For example if a startup is catering to young masses then it should focus on platforms like Facebook and Instagram but if the target audience comprises of professionals then LinkedIn is the right channel where leads can be generated.

  1. Monitor Analytics

Monitoring analytics give good insight into how existing promotions have been performing and hence give scope of improvement for marketing campaigns. It helps in reducing the cost of customer acquisition and also helps in improving content quality by helping identify what is more relevant
